Additional Information: This late-crop coffee was grown in Nyeri county, on the foothills of Aberdare range overlooking ice-peaked Mount Kenya. Roughly 480 smallholder farmers deliver to Kiangundo factory which opened in the late 1970's and is one of five wet mills comprising Kiama Farmers Co-operative Society. This coffee was grown in red volcanic soil rich in organic matter at 2,100 - 2,300 meters above sea level.
This coffee is a shining example of the uniquely sweet and complex coffees grown in the Nyeri region of central Kenya. The region's high elevation and volcanic soil that is high in phosphorous allows the coffee cherries to develop slowly, giving us a coffee bursting with sweet, ripe fruits and a balanced, silky body.
